Italian Square
Our team of four talented 3D artists collaborated on this project, aimed to recreate a scene from the town of Portorosso that is depicted in the Pixar film Luca. Our team consisted of Sophia Gonzalez (3D and blockout planning), Miranda Koulogeorge (3D and Technical), Braelynn Sodden (3D and research), and myself (3D and cinematics). My contributions to this project were modeling the stone elements, stone blocks, wall, and ground material, as well as the roof elements and materials. I created the cat and bird assets and managed the cinematics.
This project was a lot of fun and our planning and collaboration went so smoothly, I couldn’t have asked for a better group to work with! Special thanks to our awesome Professor Nejo, it has been a great two years to be under your guidance and thanks for being a class to look forward to!

I created the stone ground, stone wall, and roof tile materials in Substance Designer. In Unreal Engine we really made them pop by using Nanite, thank you Miranda for helping me with that!

Breakdowns of some of the work in progress shots:
3D assets that I contributed, modeled in Maya, textured in Substance Painter.

The two poses I have for the cats, I created the fur using Blender’s built in Geometry Nodes Fur creator. It exported perfectly to Unreal Engine. I wish I had made the fur a bit denser it’s a bit thin but it looks good from a distance.
